In recent months, BYD has been making remarkable strides in the global automotive arena, especially in overseas markets.
Market Expansion:
BYD has been aggressively tapping into new regions. In Southeast Asia, it has witnessed significant progress. In Singapore, for instance, among the numerous Chinese electric vehicle brands that entered the market in 2024, BYD stood out. From January to November, a total of 5,068 BYD vehicles were registered, representing a staggering 258% year-on-year increase. In Indonesia, it achieved another milestone by becoming the only Chinese brand to break into the top ten best-selling car models from January to November 2024.
Moreover, BYD is also looking beyond Asia. In South America, particularly in Brazil, it is building a strong presence. With plans to produce models like the Dolphin, Song Plus DM-i, Yuan Plus, and Seagull in its local factory, which is expected to have a production capacity of around 150,000 units by 2025, it aims to dominate the Brazilian and South American markets.

Sales Growth:
The sales figures speak volumes about BYD's success overseas. In October 2024 alone, BYD exported over 30,000 vehicles. Cumulatively, in multiple countries such as Brazil, Israel, and Thailand, it clinched the top or second positions in new energy vehicle sales. This achievement is a testament to the growing popularity and acceptance of BYD's electric vehicles globally.
BYD attributes its overseas achievements to its continuous innovation in technology, a wide range of product offerings catering to diverse consumer needs, and strategic market localization efforts. As the global push for sustainable transportation intensifies, BYD seems well-positioned to ride the wave and further expand its footprint in international markets. Industry experts predict that if it continues on this trajectory, BYD could potentially see overseas markets accounting for half of its total sales in the foreseeable future.

Looking ahead, BYD shows no signs of slowing down. With more production facilities in the pipeline and an expanding product portfolio, it is set to redefine the competitive landscape of the global electric vehicle market.
