BYD Launches "M9" SUV in Mexico, Marking Strategic Entry into North American Market

Based on the popular "Xia" (Summer) model sold in China and rebranded for the Americas, the M9 will officially launch on June 26, 2025, with an initial limited run of 500 units to gauge market response.
The M9 retains the sophisticated "Dragon Face 3.0" design language, renowned for its elegant and powerful aesthetics, which has been highly successful for BYD globally. However, recognizing Mexico's diverse climate conditions, BYD has implemented significant material enhancements specifically to boost durability and longevity against local environmental factors like intense sun, humidity, and temperature variations.
Under the hood, the M9 features BYD's advanced 1.5L Plug-in Hybrid Electric (PHEV) powertrain. This system delivers an exceptional comprehensive driving range of nearly 1,000 kilometers on a single full charge and tank of fuel, addressing range anxiety and offering exceptional efficiency for Mexican consumers.
The launch of the M9 in Mexico is widely viewed as BYD's strategic bridgehead into the North American market. A successful entry positions BYD to potentially accelerate its broader expansion plans across the continent.
