BAIC B30 or BJ30? One SUV, Two Badges — and One Accessory Programme

Time: 2026-10-26 Hits: 0

BAIC's compact off-roader sells as B30 in export markets and BJ30 in China and the Gulf. For a distributor, that is not a naming curiosity — it is a catalogue decision. One body, one set of mounting points, fourteen dedicated SKUs, and two search markets you can serve from a single part list.

One vehicle, two badges

BAIC's global export site lists the model as B30 (LHD & RHD); in China, Qatar and much of the Gulf the identical vehicle retails as BJ30; New Zealand and South Africa publish it as the B30. The giveaway that this is one programme, not two, sits in BAIC's own site markup — the B30 model page serves its imagery from a /bj30/ asset directory.

The body confirms it: 4,730 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, 1,790 mm tall, on a 2,820 mm wheelbase, with 215 mm of ground clearance and 24.5° / 30° approach and departure angles. A badge does not move a mounting hole — so one tooling set covers both names, and one SKU covers both LHD and RHD exterior fitment.

Why a single programme beats two catalogues

Search demand for this vehicle is split down the middle. Buyers in China, the Gulf and much of Southeast Asia type BJ30; buyers in New Zealand, South Africa and a growing list of export markets type B30. They want the same roof racks, bumpers, mud flaps and floor liners.

A catalogue carrying only one name is invisible to half that demand, and it creates doubt: a distributor holding a B30 order form who finds only BJ30 parts does not assume they are the same vehicle — they assume the listing is wrong and keep looking. Publishing both names against one SKU, with the equivalence stated in the title and the fitment note, closes that gap at no tooling cost.

There is a second commercial argument. Fourteen SKUs in one programme means one purchase order can cover a complete build — exterior protection, roof cargo and interior trim — instead of four suppliers and four sets of freight terms. For a distributor building a BAIC category from zero, that is the difference between a stocking decision and a sourcing project.

What the vehicle gets used for — and what that sells

Every item in this line maps to something the platform itself provides, which is why attach rates are predictable rather than speculative.

Armour and protection

The manganese steel front and rear bumper set is the anchor item and the highest ticket in the line. At a 24.5° approach angle, owners take these vehicles onto rock and stump terrain, and manganese steel absorbs that contact before body panels do. For a distributor, this is the SKU that opens a conversation with an off-road workshop.

Manganese steel side window armour addresses the second-most expensive glass on the vehicle — branch and scrub strikes along narrow tracks. It sells alongside the bumper to the same buyer.

Stainless steel door sill guards with a matching rear trunk guard are the low-ticket, fast-rotation entry SKU: corrosion-resistant, visually immediate, and almost always added to an order that started with a bumper.

Four-piece PP splash guards with factory hole fit are the volume item. PP stays flexible in cold weather instead of cracking the way rigid plastics do, and factory hole fit means no drilling on a customer's new vehicle.

Bolt-on aluminium alloy running boards with an anti-slip top serve the access buyer rather than the trail buyer — but note the trim rule below, because AWD models arrive with fixed steps already fitted.

Roof and cargo

Aluminium alloy roof luggage racks are offered in 4.0 mm, 3.0 mm and 1.2 mm sections — deliberately a three-step ladder, so a distributor can hold a good / better / heavy-duty structure under one product family instead of sourcing three unrelated racks.

The lockable waterproof roof equipment box is the highest-margin accessory on the roof. It sells to the same customer who just bought a rack, which makes it the cheapest upsell in the catalogue.

The aluminium alloy side step ladder exists because a roof-loaded vehicle needs roof access — a natural pairing line that lifts average order value without adding a new customer.

The ABS roof spotlight pod ships with a wiring harness. For a distributor, harness-included is an after-sales decision: it removes the most common installation complaint on lighting products.

The lockable side cargo bag in ABS and manganese steel handles tools and recovery gear that should not ride inside the cabin — a small, distinctive SKU that differentiates a catalogue from a generic rack-and-mat range.

Interior and trim

Full-coverage 3D TPE floor mats with the matching rear trunk mat will be the fastest-moving item in this programme. TPE is odour-free and dimensionally stable where PVC mats harden and smell in heat — a material choice that matters in Gulf and African markets.

The ABS tailgate back bag turns the tailgate into tool and recovery-gear storage, matching the boot's factory utility hooks and lighting. Small volume, high attach rate among genuine off-road buyers.

Two consolidated exterior and interior kit bundles cover buyers who would rather place one line item than nine — which also simplifies sampling, container planning and landed-cost calculation for a first order.

What to confirm before a first order

Trim level, not badge, decides fitment. Fixed side steps are factory-fitted on the AWD hybrid trim only. Confirm the trim on every running board order, or the customer receives a part covering a step that already exists.

Factory roof rails are already there. Export vehicles arrive with racks fitted, so rooftop boxes and light pods must be specified against the OEM rail rather than a generic crossbar.

LHD and RHD share one body. Hand-drive changes interior items only — exterior fitment is identical, which is why a single exterior SKU serves both configurations.

Everything is drill-free 1:1 OEM fitment. Nothing is cut, drilled or painted to install, so a distributor's installer network carries no cutting liability and return rates stay tied to material quality rather than fitment guesswork.

Supplying to distributors, overland outfitters and workshop groups. The programme is stocked for bulk wholesale with private labelling, stable stock and worldwide shipping.

Tell us your market, the trims you actually see, and the SKUs you want to open with — the current wholesale catalogue and private-label terms are available at BAIC B30 off-road accessories.

Quick answers

Is the BAIC B30 the same vehicle as the BJ30? Yes. B30 is the export name; BJ30 is used in China and Gulf markets. Body dimensions, wheelbase and mounting points are identical, so exterior and interior fitment is interchangeable.

Can one distributor order cover both names? Yes — fourteen SKUs sit under one programme, and each part can be listed against either badge. That is the point of carrying both names on a single SKU rather than building two catalogues.

Which trims exist in export markets? Three: 1.5T petrol (FWD, 138 kW / 305 Nm), 1.5T hybrid (FWD, 246 kW / 550 Nm) and 1.5T hybrid AWD (301 kW / 685 Nm), all with a 7-speed DCT.
