Tools Needed
- 13 mm / 14 mm socket wrench
- Hex key set (Allen keys)
- Torque wrench (recommended)
- Masking tape (to protect paintwork)
Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1 — Fit the roof rack first. The ladder mounts onto the roof luggage rack side rail. Install your cross bars or cargo rack and torque them to spec before attaching the ladder.
Step 2 — Position the ladder. Hold the ladder against the side of the vehicle, aligned with the rack mounting point. Use masking tape on the body panels to avoid scratches.
Step 3 — Attach the upper bracket. Secure the top bracket to the roof rack rail with the supplied bolts. Hand-tighten only for now — final torque comes later.
Step 4 — Fix the lower mounts. Align the lower bracket to the door sill or body anchor points, insert the rubber pads, and tighten the fasteners finger-tight.
Step 5 — Torque everything down. Tighten all bolts in a criss-cross pattern to the torque values in the manual. Do not over-tighten the aluminium.
Step 6 — Final check. Give the ladder a firm pull in every direction. It should feel rock-solid with zero movement. Re-check torque after your first 200 km of driving.
